What can you do with your Celine Handbag?

Great to see that Dave and Patti have been able to take a well-deserved holiday to the precipice of Niagara Falls and that they got back in one piece, to send the postcard! ðŸ˜‰ Belated holiday greetings back at you!

I hope Dave forgives me for copying his personal note.  I just loved that play on words and thought I should give him all the credit for it! The carved Celine purse is fabulous, genius! I can see David's creations in the Sainsbury Centre with all the other ethnographic works of art! when you come back to the UK, we should visit.

BTW, this is two mailings from Dave!

And as for Kate Moss, as I have been painting (in my green phase) all day, surely Gumby should be green. I see KM as more totemic than plastic child's toy anyway.
Thank you, David!

A duo of mail art from Mikel, lost in the summer madness

I received two white envelopes from Mikel over the summer. I opened them both today to discover two beautiful postcards, complete with artistamps.  The other white envelope came with an add and pass.  Luckily 'strawmarket' must read as Stowmarket (my correct address).
I love the energy and joy in this scultural card with its stamped design that although actual lettering, read as asemics to me.

This is also sculptural but reads as a person. Love them both!

and I will try to add to below… Thank you Mikel!

A trio of postcards from Cascadia

You will remember that the Vorticist Triangle has a reunion at Cascadia's house, earlier in the year.  Cascadia has memorialised the visit here.  Fabulous!

As ever, Cascadia is our bellweather for American trends… Purchasing Greenland, America - everything for sale, no reason not to refuel in Scotland, etc...

My Trumph Motors souvenir postcard - the best kind of trucks for protection.

Enormous Fins in a world of sharks

Not long ago I found a haul of romance magazines at a charity shop and repurposed pages to make some trash books. I sent those off to a few people and got stuff back, etc.  David and I are sending stuff back and forth.  He suggests that I repurpose it but I am an archiver. These ideas are important and even if the net gain and loss is nothing, at least we are sharing our stuff!

David's langauge reminds me of those romance magazines. Oh to be lost in one of those rather than to be in this odd twilight zone of politics. The president is back on building infrastructure.  David and I are building bridges of stuff across 'the pond', physically and woth our imaginations.

The thing about Mad Men and LA is you can park a car like that on the beach and the water really was that blue. Great stuff!

New postcards from Daniel De Culla

Not sure if Daniel intended these for the Memories are Made of This call but he didn't specifically say, so I have decided to blog them here.  Daniel's charismatic drawings are full of stories.  Wondering if there was more I should know, I journeyed to his IUOMA page where I enjoyed looking at what looks like performance art portraits.

I did notice that Daniel likes insects and wildlife.  The New Swimming characters seem to be playing a dangerous game.  I looked up Rosemary Menniger and discovered that there was a Rosemary Menniger of note who was the adopted daughter of Karl Augustus Menninger, psychiatrist, but I have no idea if that is relevant - to me the imagery suggests dreams.

At the Bday of Bastards I notice how dysfunctional society seems to be; but Daniel's birthday makes me smile anyway.  Thank you!
