Mailart, not Art by Mail

Richard Baudet and I have been exchanging for many years, albeit, annually.  Richard's mail art is instantly recogniseable, his calligraphy, his pallette. The first thing I notice about this mailing is the pillows, interspersed by stamps and campbells soup. It makes me wonder about richard's home… what kind of cushions does he have? Handwritten mail! Nothing beats it.

Richard sent me a note, too.  GET well soon! I am vaccinated (once) and am careful.  Take care and let us know that you feel better.

Brush Lines Plus 7 - Theo Nelson

Brush Lines Plus 7 - March 2017 - 03/06/17 Theo Nelson

I haven't heard from Theo for a long time.  It's probably because I owe some mail, so I am even more appreciative for this Asian (style) calligraphy! Just seeing it one the page makes me think of cherry blossoms, and spring,

Republic of Whimsy Postage - Quizzical Sun

Today we had sun and the hedge has turned green.  the plum trees are in flower and soon it will be the season of hanging the washing on the line to turn to cardboard in the sun. Many thanks, Theo.  I will try to reply soon!

MMXVII Pourquoi pas?

What could be better than to ring in the new year with some handmade rainbow mail art with MY name in a banner across the front? Love this surprise from Richard Baudet! And the message on the back of the ATC fills me full of hope for 2017.   Thank you!

Another Kind of Therapy from Richard Baudet

This envelope takes my back to my days of living in Rome: wine, mosaics, churlish cherubs.  Oh for a salad of fennel and baby greens a stone's throw from the Ostia Antica with our friends (then) the Ramirez'es. Even though I am on a pretty perfect island at the moment, I often pine for Italy. How did you know, Richard?

GREAT STAMPS!

Be sure to take part in Richard's mail art call!

Richard's writing is certainly beautiful and the words speak of a different kind of therapy. On the back of this calligraphy Richard say, 'and writing is good for my health'. Many thanks, Richard.
