Ready for market - mail art collage, MOO MOO MOO

 Who's a lucky mail art recipient? ME! Not sure if you can tell, but this is a robust 8 - 9 inch rhomboid padded fiber art collage.  It even has a reather tree! I hope those are Amy's eyes… whoever's they are this cow is trapped in a flower body , dreaming of campfires. Many thanks and will be making some more mail art soon.

Mail art lost in summer madness II Amy Irwen

So my enevelope from Amy went with me to Maine and then back again to Suffolk. Luckily I managed to keep my luggage under the overweight rating anyway… I only opened it today.  Now THAT IS WHAT I CALL delaying gratification. Amy did not let me down. What a beautiful stash of mail art wonders! And it all seems relevant what with the shadowy, greedy world we seem to be living in. Brexit and that other tweeter.  (although you'd think that the news would move on after my six week delay after receiving this!)

 I love the inchies!  They are absolute treasure.

Amy's deep reflections

Amy's mixed media, sewn piece conjures up childhood. Her Christopher Robin figure makes me long for simpler times. We are outdoors, by the water's edge, maybe listening to the croaking frogs. Amy manages to capture wonder, and the stimulation that comes from first experience. She's left some prickly pins in the piece and the butterfly/moth is large and dark, perhaps hinting at her title on the flip side:                               

                                     "When did growing up become so difficult?"

Amy has also included an ATC for me, as well as a finished doodle page! The ATC "Stock Market", with its stocking weave, punctuated by numbers, may be another social comment.

The vibrant envelope is festooned with John Foster's stickers and some Dkult buses.  Stay on the BUS.  Many thanks, Amy, what treasure!

It has spluttered here on and off for a few days, although in East Anglia we are mostly dry.  But I have been sining in ever since I got this joyous card from Amy! amy calls it 'doodle art'.  I'm sure stripygoose will be jealous.  Many thanks, Amy!

Fiber Arty Slides from Amy Irwen

I saw (and commented) on a pair of Amy's slides on  IUOMA, so I was delighted when Amy offered to send me some of my own.  Amy makes her slides, so they are their own size, which I like.  She also has a range of approaches.  Each slide is quite different.  This pair gives you an idea of how Amy works, using fabrc, text, stitching and composing in tiny frames.  Thank you Amy!
