Mail Art Perfect
The Artist in Seine is the master of evoking something more with few recycled bits. Here we have Napoleon, the fashion industry and the impressionists rolled into on. A.I.S. makes me want to fall in love on a Parisienne street, to lurk on the Rue.. to see the glamorous cavort. Oh to be anything but an American living the England!

News from the Cascadia Diorama: they aren't closing post offices… they are opening a new Central PO in Cascadia!
HOW DID HE LEARN SO MUCH ABOUT THIS?
And I have that feeling I get everytime I get a Diorama Diary that deja moment of awe and wonder, where does the energy and drive to complete such a painstaking project come from? Wherever the font of that is, it is greatly appreciated and admired.
This part of the diorama project will have resonance for all mail artists and I notice this one doesn't pull the political strings, apart from the mask wearers. For me, I miss the popular culture nods and lampooning the president but that's about my only regret On balance, it is a more serious additon to Cascadia, but that's obvious. Mail, mail art, is serious, right?
I loved seeing Mail Art Martha and the people in general in this diorama… I don't go out much anymore. Read throug, linger at the detail and take a behind-the scenes look at the story of our letters.

Diplomacy
Love receiving this visual conundrum from Jan Theuninck (Belgium). Diplomacy, we can see the world over that this is no easy feat. I am attacted to the magicianship of this visual poetry… how foreground comes forward and recedes into an abyss how a cloud of grey casts two shadows, the undulation of the land and the intensity of the light and colour. Not many images can be turned any direction and still satisfy. Jan's does. Thank you!

A Corona Beach Ball
Joel Cohen's stamp exploring civilisation is the perfect way in to a sticker dude mailing. But then again, so is mail art flees reality to gain reality, another stamp on this envelope. In these mad times Joel is doing what I do, making things in order to understand, forget and share.
I like a mail artist who helps me to understand his point of view andplace in the world we co-exist in. Joel's routine isn't far from my routine except I live in the country, have a big mad garden to tame and I am the designated grocery shopper in our family. I go to bed so tired there is no time to recognise how different life is.Great to get the New Yorker - Sticker Dude clipping service! I subscribe to the New Yorker (online) but miss so much. Let's hope the president doesn't manage to delete the post office before he is ousted. In the UK the mail got slower and then the post office got sued because a first class letter needs to arrive the following day and they weren't!
Amazing the way a piece of cut and torn paper can make me feel cut off, alone… what an alienating time this is. Great ATC
Thanks for the advice! I have zoomed in lots of different contexts and so far I love the additional tool in my tool chest. I can 'go' to pilates. 'take' a life drawing class and see my friends from other lives. when I was in the Peace Corps i was just cut off. This is better, for me.
So many great ideas to think about in this mailing! Thak you Joel!

Yikes! Gangu Ginko
You send to some people because you have a conversation going on. You send to some people because you know they 'get' you or your work. And you send to some people because you want something back. Jon foster is one of my transactional mail art correspondents. This isn't something good to admit, I know, but what can I say? Jon has not disappointed me with this beguiling tape transfer! It's asemic quality makes me think of islamic grafitti. It's so unique, so other, so cool! And the colours are GREAT. Huh, this will never be sent to a charity shop!
Jon is also a great writer and, I imagine, a great teacher. Who wouldn't listen to this guy?
In these covid times, fluxus bucks must be worth more than usual. To be honest, I'm all for bartering. I have a punnet of sungold tomatoes. What do you want to trade?
Life is like a walk in the woods with a zebra, or something. It certainly is different these days.
Thank you Jon, You make me smile.
