International open call boxed collages - homage to Joseph Cornell

Nichola Orlick has created a cut and paste boekie for the people who took part in the International open call boxed collages - homage to Joseph Cornell.  I will put mine together one day. for the moment I am admiring it as is.  

I sent my framed boxed collage and it was displayed for the exhibtion. I so wish I'd been able to see them all in the flesh, but Nichola documented it brilliantly and seeing all the work side by side makes me especially delighted to have been part of such an esteemed exhibition!  Thank you Nichola!

Ethereal fishing from Japan

Nichola's mail art always has a fleeting, watery feel that slips through one's hands in a rustle.  the sound of the envelope, the motif of the fish and the amibuous signs are curious. In another language.

Our duahgter has just returned from Japan and she describes its other-worldliness.  The mystery, the generosity and the aesthetic.  Nichola's mail art helps me to understand.

NIchola Orlick is changing the world an acorn at a time

I love Nichola's sentiment, that she wants a better world for us all.  I also appreciate her self-effacing understanding that she is just one in a world full of many, but she still tries to do her part!

Nichola's flag and this mailing have sat by my computer waiting to be scanned.  Next they will be on my work table, waiting for some marks, some peaceful marks!  I have sequestered Nichola's acorn in my precious possessions place.  My scanner is acting up and this is the thrid attempt and this time I didn't put the acorn back…

I love the way Nichola has turned her chocolate wrapper inside out to make a beautful airmail envelope.  Many thanks for this evocative mail art full of good will.
